Michael Walsh has vowed to unleash the anger and frustration of his brother's failed world title bid when he ends his two-year absence from the ring.

The Cromer fighter – who has a perfect record of 11 straight knockout wins – returns to the ring next week, kicking off a four-fight mission to conquer the domestic super-bantamweight scene.

At the forefront of his mind will be the twin emotions of watching brother Liam comes off second best against Gervonta Davis in his IBF super-featherweight challenge, and Ryan defending his British featherweight title for the third time.

'I can't deny that seeing my younger brother losing is still hurting me, and it's bad,' said Walsh, 32. 'I have an anger inside me and it isn't nice.

'It has knocked me a bit. I am raging inside about Liam's loss – he is my little brother and I love him dearly and I am gutted he didn't achieve his dream, but it is not over and I know he will come again and win a world title.

'I don't care if it is an all-out war on Saturday, I just want to get this pain out of my system. I can't guarantee or promise anything because I am unpredictable to myself, but I do know one thing: with my anger I can only see it going one way - me on my back or him on his back and I have no intention of it being me on my back.'

Walsh worked alongside his younger twin brothers in their training camp so is in tip-tip shape for the trip to Braintree Leisure Centre followed, if all goes to plan, by a Norwich homecoming in July. Then he has Commonwealth champion Rob Turley in his sights, when victory could earn him that British title shot.

'I have worked hard all along in the camp with Liam and Ryan and I am back to where I need to be,' he added. 'But if I don't win this Saturday, then it all goes out of the window.

'That would be dream achieved and that is all I have wanted out of boxing.'

Walsh co-headlines Saturday's bill with Billy Bird, who fights out of Norwich's Kickstop Gym. Bird is appearing for the first time this year, after injury, and is fighting for an International Classic Challenge belt. Connor Vian, who made his debut in Norwich, and Ipswich heavyweight Fabio Wardley are also on the card.
