Senior week at Cromer Lawn Tennis & Squash Club had 157 players signed up to play and the standard was high in most events.

With sprinkles of rain most days, delays were not too onerous and with only one late evening, finals day arrived with each event's finals left to play.

There were seven Association of British Tennis Officials umpires available for the matches and the majority of the players enjoyed the experience of having an umpire seated in the chair during their matches.

Norfolk players were well represented during the week and many reached the finals and Cromer were represented by several of its members, seven of whom reached finals.

In the Norfolk open events, Thomas Fisher beat Harry Weeds in the men's singles and Maria Andrews of Norwich beat Laura Mineards from Northampton in the women's singles.

In the open restricted singles events, Wayne Tideswell beat James Lillistone from Norwich and Mary Ogden, from Cromer, beat Karen Goodman from Cambridge.

The 18-and-under singles events were won by James Ling and Maria Andrews.

In the open doubles, Harry and Josh Weeds beat Alexander McNaughton and Thomas Watkinson in an all-Norwich final whilst Oliver Hindle and Josh Weeds took the restricted doubles title by beating Wayne Tideswell and Stephen Biss.

The women's open doubles was won by Laura Mineards and Sophie Walker, who beat their counterparts from Northampton, Kate Clayson and Lucy Horbatowski.

In the open women's restricted doubles, Karen Goodman and Sarah Jermy beat Cromer's own Annie Cowper Johnson and Lisa Lowe.

The open mixed doubles was won by the Norfolk pairing of Jonnie Carmichael and Maria Andrews with a victory over the Northampton pair of Arthur Eyles and Lucy Horbatowski.

The restricted mixed doubles went to Shay Ginat and Sophie Walker who beat the Cromer pair of Heather Bottomley and Matthew Jordon.

The remaining events saw various players from Blofield, Fakenham, Norwich & Suffolk win through to titles in this tournament.
