Police have concluded that a woman who was allegedly assaulted in St George's Park was not the victim of any criminal offence.

Police were called to Nelson Road Central, in Great Yarmouth, at 2.50am today (Sunday) and an ambulance was also called.

And an investigation was launched after it was claimed that a woman was assaulted by two men.

The incident took place in the south-eastern corner of the park - near to the former art college - with an area taped off beside the playground.

The victim was taken to the James Paget University Hospital (JPH) in Gorleston with minor injuries and a seal was put in place to preserve any evidence.

But after police investigated the circumstances the incident, they found no wrongdoing.

A spokesman for Norfolk police said: 'Despite initial concerns that she may have been the victim of some form of assault enquiries have been able to establish that, thankfully, she was not victim of any criminal offence and investigations are concluded.'
