A rocking horse will be sold at a silent auction on Saturday to raise funds for charity.
Henry Gowman, chair Poringland and District Mens Shed, said they had been given the unfinished wooden horse in 2016 and asked if they could complete the project.
'I was doubtful that we could, but on learning that it was intended to donate the horse to the EACH NOOK project for a new children's hospice to be built near our village, we decided to store the horse until someone joined us with the necessary skills for the job.'
He said Tim Mayhew, the founder of Mayhew Builders and a skilled woodworker joined and took on the project, which he completed.
'We are very pleased that we kept our promise and that the completed horse will be part of the EACH NOOK Appeal Silent Auction being held at The Old School House just by The Railway pub on The Street in Poringland on Saturday March 10,' said Mr Gowman.
