A wealth of artistic talent from across the region has gone on display at Norwich Castle's Open Art Show, with almost 130 works on show.

The title and theme of the show, now in its fifth year, is Inheritance, with 116 artists selected from a record breaking entry of almost 900 submissions.

The works in the show, organised along with the East Anglia Art Fund, include painting, sculpture, sound, textiles, film, printmaking and photography.

The theme of Inheritance was picked to complement the exhibition The Square Box On The Hill, which opened at the castle last month and focuses on the 900-year history of the building.

John Ward, chairman of Norfolk County Council, said: 'Many of the featured artists are from Norfolk and the show demonstrates the creativity which the county and the region attracts and fosters.'

The exhibition, which opened at Norwich Castle on Saturday, runs until Sunday, May 20.
