Permission has been given for changes to tennis courts in three Norwich parks, but the most controversial proposal has yet to be decided.

Changes to courts in Harford Park, Lakenham Recreation Ground and Eaton Park have been approved by Norwich City Council's planning committee.

Permission was granted for hard courts to be refurbished and flood-lighting installed at Harford and Lakenham

Floodlighting would also be installed at three courts in Eaton Park.

A decision has yet to be made over a proposal to replace 10 grass courts at Heigham Park with three all-weather floodlit courts - a plan which has sparked some 60 objections.

For the revamps to go ahead, the council would have to invest £140,000 from its capital budget, but would also have to be successful in a bid for £195,000 from the Lawn Tennis Association. A further £55,000 would come from housing developers.
