The 78-year-old OBE recipient has revealed he and wife Valeria have for many years been wanting to move to the Spanish island.
The commentator, best known for his work on Test Match Special, was born in Wroxham in 1939.
He attended Sunningdale School in Berkshire, before then attending Eton and after, Kings's College at Cambridge University.
The father of two wrote in his guest column: 'The house, the front of which is painted in that lovely, different, Menorcan red, ticked eight of our ten boxes.
'That afternoon, our offer was accepted.'
Mr Blofield also discusses the renovations he will be having on his property, writing: 'We will now have a good sized patio on the third floor; a staircase which looks less like the final approach to the top of Mount Everest, and French windows in the master bedroom.'
