The overnight frost took its toll on football this morning as scores of matches were called off across the county.
Despite no official weather warning for ice from the Met Office, there have been reports of freezing fog, with temperatures dropping to -4C in some areas of the county.
The poor conditions have caused various Sunday football games to be called off.
Norwich City Council made an early decision to cancel every match at two of its parks, Eaton Park and Sloughbottom, saving players the trouble of a wasted journey.
Taverham FC also announced that several of their games at Hinks Meadow were cancelled due to frozen pitches.
Both under 11 cup games were called off as well as an under 16 Tigers home game and an under 12 Taverham FC game.
The club said on Twitter: 'Stay warm and enjoy the festive period.'
