Epic, the former ITV studios in Magdalen Street, Norwich has thrown open its doors for an impromptu gig and a free pint to cheer up the stranded folk of the city tonight.
With the weather causing problems on the roads, trains and buses, and the outside temperature set to hit zero, the free event, which started at about 7pm, helped to raise the spirits, although there was not a huge turn-out.
James Foster, Epic's business development manager, said: 'We had about a dozen people attend and about four performers turned out, but it was a lovely atmosphere. Instead of shivering in the cold people could enjoy the music and a free beer.'
The idea for the event came as they were following the Evening News and EDP online coverage of the weather across the county, he said.
'We were all wondering how we were going to get home, and realised that we could not at that time. We were trapped in a building filled with beer and music performers, so we thought we would do something with them.'
