Pupils from a Norwich school have been praised for their award-winning flowers.
Youngsters from Chapel Break Infant School won the Friends of Norwich in Bloom's school daffodil competition and they were presented with their prizes at a special school assembly in which the children also sang a song about daffodils.
Several children came up to receive the Daffodil Competition winners prizes. They included a trophy which the school wins for a year and a shield which they can keep, Notcutts vouchers, two bug hotels, and a picture for the school and and the school's gardening teacher Sarah Gann.
Julie Brociek-Coulton, schools competition secretary for Friends of Norwich in Bloom, said: 'The children were all very well behaved and the daffodil song they sang was really beautiful. Many thanks to the headteacher of the school who took the time to show several of us around the school after the assembly.
'Bill our ambassador spent time talking to the children in their garden afterwards too and thanked Sarah Gann for the fantastic work she does with the school.
'Special thanks should go to Notcutts our new sponsors for the vouchers and the two bug hotels.'
Keith Driver, the Lord Mayor of Norwich, attended the assembly on May 7 along with Bill Webster, ambassador of Friends of Norwich in Bloom, the Friends chairman Steve Buckle, the Friends secretary Julie Brociek-Coulton, and Ray from Notcutts Garden Centre.
In the competition which took place earlier in the year, George White Junior School was awarded second prize and Magdalen Gates Preschool was third.
The competition was judged by Mr Driver, and Notcutts manager Steve Boon.
