The men, aged 19 and 43, already in police custody, were further arrested on suspicion of murder after the victim, a man in his 20s, died yesterday following the incident at Morrisons on Monday night.

Three people, a 19-year-old woman and two men aged 41 and 42, arrested in connection with the incident have been questioned and released under investigation while enquiries continue.

More than 30 detectives from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team are working on the case and enquiries are continuing today to examine CCTV and speak to witnesses.

The victim, Nicholas Singh, also known as Nicholas Rogers, was airlifted to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treatment but died yesterday. A Home Office post mortem examination will take place later today.

Floral tributes have been left outside the shop, which has since reopened.

More than 30 bunches of flowers have been left outside the front of the Norwich Road store, including a bouquet from Mr Rogers' parents.

A message with the flowers states: 'Night night sweet heart. We will be holding you in our arms forever x love Mum and Dad XXXXXX.'

Another bouquet has been left by Morrisons staff.

It reads: 'Nick rest in peace from our Morrisons colleagues. X.'

Sonia Old, 61, who lives in Wymondham and was looking at the flowers, said: 'No-one deserves that.'

She said she knew Mr Rogers' mum as she used to live near her and would be going to get some flowers to leave at the scene.

One shopper described the shocking moment she saw the victim fall to the floor.

Detective Chief Inspector Marie James, from the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team, who is leading the investigation, said: 'As I said yesterday, this is a fast-paced investigation and we are making good progress. We've interviewed several witnesses however we know there were several people in the store when the incident happened and we would be keen to speak to those people who haven't yet spoken to police.'

Local policing commander, Inspector John Colbert, moved to reassure local residents. He said: 'Violent incidents in Wymondham are extremely rare, so with this happening in such a public place, I can totally understand how shocking this must be to the local community.

'Detectives from the Major Investigation Team are leading this enquiry and we can confirm all those involved were known to one-another.

'Officers have been carrying out increased patrols in the area – this includes officers on foot patrol and passing vehicle patrols – to provide that visible reassurance which will continue today.'

Anyone who witnessed the incident and has not spoken with police is urged to contact the Norfolk and Suffolk Major Investigation Team on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
