A team of five 'Hire It' managers from builders merchants Travis Perkins have put their green fingers to good use by refurbishing the garden at East Anglia's Children's Hospice (EACH) in Quidenham.

Nick Cowell, Neil Allan, Trevor Digby, John Gillings and Steve Ryan from the Travis Perkins hire service joined hospice staff in October to add some greenery and freshen up garden furniture.

Hire has been running in selected Travis Perkins branches for a number of years and with counters offering a range of tools, including landscaping equipment, the team had the means to help the hospice with its project.

Steve Ryan, operations manager group hire for East Anglia, commented: 'Travis Perkins prides itself on its charity work and we were all very glad to be able to take some time and help out EACH in Quidenham.

'Being able to support the community and make a difference to those in need is a great feeling and this project provided us with an ideal opportunity to give something back.

'By volunteering our time, we can also bring these benefits to a worthwhile local cause.'

East Anglia Children's Hospices supports children and their families across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk either in their own home or at hospices located in Ipswich, Milton and Quidenham.
