A nurse from Beccles is competing to be named Miss International UK and hopes to challenge stereotypes about beauty queens.

Brooke Smith works in the neonatal care unit at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

She has been competing in pageants for five years and is the current Miss International Suffolk.

If successful in Miss International UK, Miss Smith will travel to Japan in November to compete for the overall Miss International title.
