Norwich Market’s latest pop-up stall specialises in everything Norfolk and even offers an unusual scent that football fans will be keen on.

If candles, wax melts, cards and totes are your thing, then For the Love of Norfolk will be for you.

Karen Williams, 53, from Costessey, has been making candles for three years and said "it was always her dream" to open her own shop.

She is currently working from one of the city council's pop-up stalls on the market, stall 36, selling sustainable, handmade items from local artists, including local artwork, prints and photographs.

In its fifth week on the market, Karen said: "The unique selling point of my business is that it’s not just a coconut candle, there are little information cards explaining the link with Norfolk in a fun way."

The furniture and packaging of Karen's products are recycled, the ribbons have been tied with raffia, the wicks are wooden and the displays are made using upcycled items.

Karen’s best-selling home fragrance is 'Boudicca' and she has found 'Coastal Path' is a popular fragrance recently too.

History is important for the brand too, with several scents featuring information cards about the basis for the idea, featuring figures including Nelson and Queen Elizabeth II.

Karen added: "They are perfect gifts for anyone that loves Norfolk and souvenirs for day-trippers looking for Norfolk gifts."

There is even a scent that Canaries supporters may be keen on if they are missing their football hit between Carrow Road match days.

Karen explained: "I’ve linked the fragrance to a particular niche. So, 'Carrow and Canary' for instance, smells of fresh cut grass and leather, like a football pitch and leather boots."

For the Love of Norfolk's pop-up stall will continue for 12 weeks, until early June.
