Seagulls may not be everyone’s favourite characters but to a city photographer and author, the birds are certainly noteworthy.
Sally Lloyd, who lives near the Wensum river, has published a book entitled Gavin the Gull and the River Monster.
Written for “10 to 100-plus-year-olds”, the tale follows the gallivants of Gavin the Gull and the various other wildlife that call Norwich their home.
It is the sequel to Gavin and the Jingle Gulls, which is also set in Norfolk.
Sally said: “Urban gulls are very much a part of river life.
“They are entertaining, funny and ruthless!

“The river is abundant with wildlife, and the characters in my Gavin the Gull books evolved naturally from the creatures I am lucky enough to see on a daily basis."
Sally has lived in Norwich for over 30 years.

She added: “I love Norwich as it has a fascinating history, stunning architecture and scenery.
“And of course, it is the city of stories!”
