There is big transfer news at Norwich Market, where a stall selling an array of Canaries merchandise has secured a move to a permanent shop in a city landmark.

On The Stall City, which raises funds for Norwich City's Community Sports Foundation (CSF), is to move from its two stalls on the market to a permanent shop in The Forum due to increasing demand and a plethora of donations from the club and City fans.

Its family team are also hoping to revive its online shop, which ran during lockdown, due to additional office space in their new home, while also hosting a range of fan-created events such as exhibitions.

The new shop will be located on the right of the ground floor and will open on December 1, with the last day of trading at the market on October 28.

Andy Bowles, who runs the stall along with his son Jacob and wife Sharon, said he was looking forward to moving into a bigger store as their lock-up was bursting at the seams with Canaries kit and other merchandise.

Mr Bowles said: "It's pretty exciting, we really needed the space.

"We've got so much stock in the lock-up, the club have donated loads from the 2021-22 season, from match kit to stuff from Colney, and we've also got a lot of odder items.

"It just came about really, we found out that they were looking for some new tenants and they only take people with a charitable cause so we fitted in perfectly.

"Everyone at The Forum has been very welcoming and keen to have us in.

"We'll still have the same name even though we're off the market as they have a lot of markets in The Forum anyway.

"It's going to be a massive challenge, but it's one we're looking forward to.

"But people don't need to worry, our prices aren't going up."

On the stall since 2019

On The Stall City has been running since 2019 and during its four years in business has moved from a market pop-up in its early days to having its own stall in 2021, then expanding into two stalls in 2022 before securing its transfer to The Forum.

During its time in business, the stall has sent tons of City items to Syrian supporters, traded in rare city shirts and even welcomed celebrity shoppers.

Jacob Bowles, who heads up the stall regularly chatting with Canaries' fans about club affairs, has even spoken of how his venture and love of Norwich City have helped him overcome his struggles with anxiety.

Over the years the stall has raised thousands of pounds for the CSF and Canaries' academy helping to create the next generation of city stars.

The stall has been inundated by requests for children's Norwich shirts in recent months, with high demand forming a big part of the decision to move to the new store.
