Thin Lizzy - Still Live and Dangerous

Performing live was always Thin Lizzy's strength.

How would they shape up without their legendary founder member and front man Phil Lynott who died 20 years ago?

Damned good to be sure. Former Lizzy guitarists Scott Gorham and John Sykes blazed away taking us all on the greatest trips down memory lane.

With Michael Lee pounding away on drums and Marco Mendoza thundering along on bass this was honest-to-goodness no-holds-barred rock music that had everyone shouting and left your ears ringing.

Whiskey in a Jar opened swiftly, followed by such Lizzy classics as Emeralds, Rosalie, Jailbreak and Dancing in the Moonlight.

The pace only slowed briefly for the bluesy Still in Love with You.

The Boys were definitely back in town and their twinned guitars were sheer quality.

John Sykes handled the vocals well not copying Lynott but getting just the right feel for the songs. This was a show from the heart and their enthusiasm was infectious.

"Every note and every minute of every song is for Phil Lynott," shouted Sykes and should the man himself have been looking down on events then I am sure he would have approved.
