A young actor has returned to the stage, just days after emergency theatre to have his appendix removed.

Robert Thomas, 14, who plays the part of the king in this year’s Attleborough Players production of Sing a Song of Sixpence, underwent keyhole surgery on Wednesday after suffering appendicitis.

But the youngster from Rockland St Peter, near Attleborough, was back performing on Saturday at the Connaught Hall in Attleborough in front of 195 disabled young people as part of an East Coast Truckers sponsored event.

The script had to be altered to allow Robert to sit through most of the performance, but he hopes to be up to full fitness for performances of the panto on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.

The student also had to re-arrange a call back for Theartretrain, for a part in their production to be staged at Sadler’s Wells Theatre in London in May.
