With everything from a musical celebrating Cilla Black to a Cuban dance spectacle by Acosta Danza, there is lots to look forward to at Norwich Theatre Royal.
The city theatre has revealed a packed programme of shows and events for its latest-line up.
John Bultitude, from Norwich Theatre Royal, said: 'The talent of two very diverse but iconic performers are celebrated in our new season. The voice and personal touch of Cilla Black and the creative punch of Carlos Acosta head a line-up of entertainment which also features incredibly inventive productions and the return of some audience favourites. As we continue to expand the variety and breadth of the shows we present, this new season is a great chance to experience a huge range of entertainment from performers keen to showcase their skills and delight Norwich audiences.'
Here are the highlights of the new season:
Cilla The Musical - April 17-21
A heart-warming show celebrating Merseyside showbiz icon Cilla Black, Cilla The Musical follows the story of Liverpool teenager Priscilla White and her rocky, but incredible, rise to fame. Packed with Cilla's biggest hits including Anyone Who Had A Heart and Alfie, it stars Andrew Lancel (Coronation Street, The Bill, The Sound of Music) as music manager Brian Epstein while Cilla Black is portrayed by Kara Lily Hayworth. The show has been penned by Bafta Award-winning writer Jeff Pope (Philomena, Little Boy Blue).
Acosta Danza - May 31-June 1
Ballet star and international dance icon Carlos Acosta is bringing his new company Acosta Danza to Norwich. The company is made up of Cuba's top dance talent and will perform a mix of work created by some of the best Cuban and international choreographers.
English Touring Opera - May 3-5
English Touring Opera are back with two productions. They will present an energetic new production of Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro on May 3 and 4 followed by a double bill of short Puccini operas on May 5 - the moody romance Il Tabarro and the comedy Gianni Schicchi.
The Jungle Book - April 10-14
A new stage adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book will follow the classic story of Mowgli and his battle for survival in the jungle. The new production comes from the team behind recent stage versions of classic novels Goodnight Mister Tom and Running Wild.
Grease - July 25-28
Norwich Theatre Royal Youth Company will be performing Grease, the story of Danny and Sandy and Rydell High's class of 1959, set against a soundtrack of songs including You're The One That I Want and Greased Lightnin',
Cinderella In Hollywood - May 25-26
Dancers from across the region will share the stage with professional performers in English Youth Ballet's production of Cinderella In Hollywood which will transport the fairy-tale into the glamorous era of 1950s Hollywood movies and feature a score mixing Shostakovich jazz tunes with music from classic films.
Love From A Stranger - July 17-21
Agatha Christie's suspense thriller Love From A Stranger sees Cecily Harrington whisked off her feet by a handsome man with who she moves into a beautiful country cottage - but she soon discovers her blissful surrounding and new-found love may not be quite what they seem.
Some Mothers Do 'Ave' Em - July 9-14
Joe Pasquale takes on the role of the ever-accident-prone Frank Spencer in a stage version of the TV show Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em which follows Frank and his long-suffering wife Betty through a host of misadventures.
Cirque Berserk - April 5-7
Cirque Berserk will bring thrills and spills galore to the stage in a show marking the 250th anniversary of the invention of circus. Highlights will include the motorcycle spectacle, The Globe Of Death.
Derren Brown - June 19-23
The master of mind-games Derren Brown will be performing his latest show Underground.
Daniel O'Donnell - April 30-May 1
Singer, performer and former Strictly contestant Daniel O'Donnell will be returning to Norwich on his latest tour.
Jon Richardson - May 21-22
British Comedy Award nominee Jon Richardson will tickle the funny-bone with two performances in May.
One-night shows
There are lots of one-night shows on the programme.
George Michael is celebrated in the show Fast Love on April 8 and there will be a tribute to Billy Fury in Halfway To Paradise on April 29.
The rock 'n' roll show That'll Be
The Day is heading to Norwich on June 17 and Rhythm Of The Dance will celebrate Irish music and dance on
June 24.
Comedy highlights include popular broadcaster and raconteur Danny Baker on July 29 and the ever-inventive Ross Noble on September 24.
Also heading to Norwich are two of Strictly's dancers, Ian Waite and Oti Mabuse, with their show Rhythm Of The Night on May 20.
Pupils from two local dance schools will also showcase their talents - Stella School of Dance presents Lights, Camera, Action on May 6 and the Central School of Dance and Performing Arts brings its show Grand Central Circus to the stage on July 15.
