It’s difficult to believe that it’s been four years since the last James Bond film “Quantum of Solace” and for a series that’s celebrating its fiftieth anniversary you couldn’t ask for a better outing as I personally feel Skyfall is the best James Bond film of all time.
Hello, my name is Jack Bool and I am a sixteen year old film reviewer based in the Norfolk area. Since the beginning of 2012 I have been running my own website http://www.jbreviews.co.uk/ which I update daily with a number of film reviews. It has become incredibly popular in my school (Cliff Park High, in Gorleston) with the school being very supportive and showing a positive attitude towards my work. The site is a partnership between me and a friend and whilst I write the reviews he kindly uploads them for me.
My reviews include a variety of films, from wide releases to independent releases, as well as classics and foreign language movies. I also take requests and I am very privileged to be writing for the EDP, Evening News and Yarmouth Mercury, reviewing as many new titles as possible.
Once again the film stars Daniel Craig as James Bond and as per usual he does a fantastic job. Personally he’s my favourite Bond of them all and it’s safe to say if you want a typical James Bond movie with all the stereotypical clichés then this isn’t for you. Skyfall is a complete transcend in style for the series as it’s noticeably darker and mature as opposed to previous Bond’s.
If like me you appreciate a good old fashioned reboot then you’ll love this as it is as I said the best Bond film of them all.
Unlike previous instalments Judi Dench’s character of M receives far more screen time and although I must admit I’ve never been a fan of her in the Bond films I had a high tolerance for her in this one, mainly because she had a bit of a backstory and to be honest the story was the driving force behind the entire movie.
The film follows James Bond’s loyalty to M being tested when her past comes back to haunt her, MI6 comes under attack and it’s up to 007 to track down and destroy the threat no matter how personal the cost is.
For me in the last few movies there hasn’t been much of a presence when it comes to a villain but Javier Bardem’s Silva is one of the best Bond villains to come around in years.
As we all know Bardem is an exceptional actor in his own right but in this along with Craig he really does steal the show. In terms of acting and script-writing the movie is exceptional and of course the typical Bond humour is there.
I was sceptical at first due to the 140 minute running time but the movies so good it goes by in a flash and I must say I was devastated when it finished, but at least we won’t have to wait four years for a sequel this time.
The special effects are great and it’s a real game changer for the series, it’s been pushed in a completely different direction courtesy of director Sam Mendes. The set-pieces and special effects are superb and of course it’s undeniable that without them the movie wouldn’t be the triumph that it is.
If you go into this movie wanting to see a Roger Moore shaken not stirred type of occasion then forget it as you will be disappointed, accept it for what it is and you can’t possibly go wrong as its one of the best films I’ve seen this year. It completely succeeded my expectations and I would hail it as a complete masterpiece.
The score is brilliant as is ADELE’s theme song of the same name and you know you’re in for a treat as soon as the movie begins. It’s safe to say the era of Daniel Craig has just hit a whole new level as Skyfall is pure cinematic gold and a genially magnificent Bond movie, as a fan who is partial to a bit of change its all you could wish for. A must see for any lover of cinema.

I disagree, this Bond has been a let down. The story is far too patchey and far too much emphasis has been spent on getting the dramatic special effects to a wow factor. I do miss classic Bond, where the storyline was crisp and punchy, yet enough calm before leading up to the climax. This is just my opinion, please feel free to comment accordingly and within the guidelines. Regards, Whiely.

I disagree with the bit about this being darker than previous bonds. I think Skyfall has gone back to what bond should be, with the witty one liners and a dash of the cheesiness that we all love and want from a bond film. If you want a good old BOND film then you will enjoy this. But i agree, this is the best out of Daniel Craig's bonds. More like this i say!
