Doreen Joy, 46, parish council clerk, said: 'We know it will be a good day.'

The fun day will include miniature therapy donkeys, arts and crafts, an obstacle course, face painting, music, games, Punch and Judy, a fun dog show and teas and coffees by Mundesley Women's Institute.

Several village organisations will be represented by various stalls and the Royal British Legion will perform the Last Post to commemorate 100 years since the First World War ended.

Visitors can also learn about the village's green dog scheme, which promotes the picking up of dog mess by pet owners.

Ms Joy, who lives in Chapel Road in nearby Roughton, moved from London more than two years ago.

She had no family or friends in the area but wanted to live in or near Mundesley after coming on a holiday to the seaside village.

The parish clerk, who also runs dog rescue organisation Dogue De Bordeaux Rehoming and Rescue UK, said: 'We would be silly not to get involved in Norfolk Day.

'It is important for Mundesley to be involved because the village is a great place to visit. We want to raise the profile of the village. We need people to come here to keep it alive.

'It is about bringing everyone together. We want it to be accessible to everybody.

'There is something at the fun day for the whole family, whether you are young or old.'

People can come in fancy dress.

Ms Joy added: 'Mundesley is a piece of England that not many people have heard about. It is beautiful. It is a proper community. People power exists here. We want to do Norfolk Day justice.'

The fun dog show takes place between 1-3pm and entries need to arrive by 11am. There are 10 classes and it costs £1 per class entry.

Parking will be available on Beach Road Car Park and an overflow car park will be in operation.
