It is again humbling to see the community spirit in Norwich and Norfolk shine through to support Jordan Wilson, Ashley Challoner and new baby Matilda, as they are stuck in Italy following Matilda’s early arrival.

MORE: Family could be stranded in Italy for more than three months after little Matilda was born on holiday 15 weeks early

Any premature birth is stressful, but at just 15 weeks and in a foreign country the experience must have been terrifying - and to add to the distress the couple had to use their baby supply savings as they may be stranded in the country for more than three months.

So to see £1,500 raised by generous members of the public to help the couple get everything they need yet again shows us just how our community pulls together in times of need.

Congratulations to the new family, and well done to all those who stepped up to help.
