Thousands of people are set to descend on Chapelfield Gardens this weekend with the park transformed into a Bavarian village.
The city centre park is hosting German Bierfest Norwich 2017, one of three Oktoberfest-style events to be held in the city this year.
The event, which runs until tomorrow, features a 300-seat beer tent with table service and a DJ show, traditional Bavarian lederhosen and dirndls, authentic German food - and beer served in the famous one-litre glasses.
There is a 1,200-seat beer garden which has been popular with revellers as temperatures are set to hit 28C in the city this weekend.
Marvin Kluge, event manager for organiser London Oktoberfest Ltd, said: 'We call it frühlingsfest in Germany. That means we celebrate the spring starts and the winter is over. And typically, we do it with beer.
'German Bierfest Norwich is much more than just beer. It is a celebration of life and an appreciation of culture. All staff will be dressed in special Bavarian costume.
'We present true German beers and food. Three beers on offer including the famous Weißbier are specially brewed in a 200-year-old brewery in Bavaria.'
Food and drink on offer includes Schweinebraten, a Bavarian pork dish, Underberg, a digestif bitter and a variety of German craft beer.
There are sessions today and tomorrow with afternoon and evening sessions on Saturday and Sunday. Entrance to the open-air areas is free and tickets start at £20 for table bookings.
Roger Ryan, Norwich City Council's cabinet member with responsibility for parks, said of the event: 'We are always happy to support our parks being used in innovative ways that bring residents together and boost the local economy, and hope this event is enjoyed by many.'
In October the city will be celebrating German culture once again with two Oktoberfest events. The first will be at Open on October 6 and 7 with the other to be held at Carrow Road on October 27 and 28.
