Despite an upbeat bulletin yesterday when a director declared that “the show must go on” organisers Aztec Events have had to concede defeat in their battle to stage the star-studded event. A statement issued this morning said: “Due to the extreme weather conditions and the forecast for heavy snow all day Friday and Saturday, the show has now been rescheduled for a later date. Advanced tickets will be permitted at the new show date (to be announced soon). Because of the severe weather situation health and safety regulations have made it impossible to run this event safely – thank you for your understanding and the show will be rescheduled soon.”

The inaugural event last year attracted 8,000 visitors to the Showground. Celebrities lined up to appear at this weekend’s event included Lenwade-based legend John Wilson, Caister-born match maestro Bob Nudd and TV star Matt Hayes.
