Waveney darts star Peter ‘Snakebite’ Wright is looking forward to gaining some revenge on fellow Premier League Darts debutant Dave Chisnall tonight.

The pair, who meet in Bournemouth, squared-off in the 2013 German Darts Championship final, with Chisnall prevailing 6-2.

“He played brilliantly that day,” admitted Mendham-based Wright, who got his Premier League campaign off to a winning start last Thursday with victory against Wes Newton.

“But I’ll most definitely be looking for revenge on Thursday. Our head-to-head record is pretty close but I think I just about have the edge on him.”

Having been selected to play on the biggest stage, Chisnall joined Wright in getting off to the perfect start in Liverpool, as he edged past Robert Thornton 7-5.

“It was great to start off with a win,” said Wright. “I was really nervous and excited beforehand and it was such an honour to be picked.

“A lot of work still has to be done but I’d like to reach the semi-final stages at least, it’s important to keep that winning feeling going.

“It should be a good game but I’m looking forward to bashing him.

“We’ve both been at the UK Open Qualifiers over the weekend and we gave each other plenty of banter about the game then.”

Following Thursday’s victory, it’s been a non-stop schedule for ‘Snakebite’ as he travelled to the Robin Park Tennis Centre in Wigan to compete in the Coral UK Open Qualifiers, which were held over the course of last weekend.

With three seperate tournaments to fight for, involving over 230 competitors including the top two seeds in the world, Michael van Gerwen and Phil Taylor, Wright progressed into two semi-finals.

In the first qualifier Wright, ranked sixth in the world, lost 6-5 to Adrian Lewis.

The World Championship runner-up suffered similar heartbreak in the semi-finals of the third qualifier as he lost 6-3 to eventual winner Taylor.
