Their last fifth round appearance was last season, when they were beaten 2-1 by Leicester City at Carrow Road with Wes Hoolahan on the scoresheet.

The Canaries’ first FA Cup meeting with Luton Town came back in the 1927-28 season when they were beaten 6-0 in a second round away tie. They trailed 5-0 at half-time.

City’s most recent FA Cup game against the Hatters was in the fourth round, when they won 2-0 at Carrow Road in January 1976 with goals from Martin Peters and David Jones.

As well as being FA Cup runners-up in 1959, Luton were beaten 2-1 in the semi-final by Everton at Villa Park in 1985, 2-1 by Wimbledon in the semi-final at White Hart Lane in 1988 and 2-0 by Chelsea in the semi-final at Wembley in 1994.

  • Stats are irrelevant. We are (just about) a Premier League team (for now) playing at home to a team of non-league amateurs. Even a very poor team, lacking in any confidence or ability like us should beat Luton by 6 or 7. Anything else is a disgrace. I'm in the Directors box on Saturday, I'll give you all a wave!
