The race, from Frettenham Village Hall, was won by Paul Sanford in 33:36. The Norfolk Harriers member led almost from start to finish of the double loop course and opened up a sizeable gap from the
chasing pack after the first 2km.

Sanford’s nearest rival, Mark Thompson (Great Yarmouth Road Runners) finished in 35:03 with third place going to Norfolk Gazelles’ Mark Grubb, who crossed the line in 35:17.

Closely following the leading group was female winner and Essex athlete, Sara Bird (Woodford Green AC) who came through the finish in a time of 36:03 and topped her last 10K performance at BUPA 2013 by three seconds. North Norfolk Beach Runners’ Emma Patel’s finishing time of 40:56 was enough to secure her runner-up spot.
