Former Norwich City midfielder Simon Lappin has joined Cardiff City in a permanent deal until the summer of 2014.
Lappin, previously on loan at the Championship leaders in November last year, has been snapped up by Bluebirds boss Malky Mackay after leaving Carrow Road by mutual consent earlier this month.
Lappin told Cardiff City’s official website: “I’m absolutely delighted to be signing for Cardiff City on a permanent deal and pleased that we’ve now finalised everything.
“I’m looking forward to the rest of the season now and hopefully we can continue the good form we’ve been showing the past couple of months.
“I thoroughly enjoyed my loan spell here with a great squad of lads. The manager, staff and everyone at the club have been fantastic with me and when I heard they wanted me back here on a permanent deal it was an easy decision to return.
“January has been a bit disrupted with the FA Cup fixtures splitting the Championship calendar. But we’re all chomping at the bit now to face Leeds at their place on Saturday afternoon where we’ll have to be on top of our game once again to get the result.
“We’ve got a lot of challenges coming up and we need to be ready every time we step out there now to achieve what we want to.”

Well done KOS, looks like Malky has an eye for good players. Lapps was and is a true professional and some of the present squad could look to him as role player. We have now lost the last two true professionals in Lapps and ADs. Wish them both the best. OTBC

Would be ironic if Cardiff got promoted and Lapps ends up playing in the Prem next season while Norwich..... don`t even think it! Also, Malky was rapidly jettisoned by Worthington when City got promoted that time and never got the Prem chance he`d earned..... Good luck, KoS - and Malkie. A match made in heaven; no translator needed.

One of the Canaries best. I'm glad Malkey's got the benefit of him. Another Canary stalwart.

Good luck, great pro who put up with alot at city but stayed true, many players would have jumped at the first opportunity. Unlike some of the players we have at the club at the moment, the KOS never lets anyone down.

Probably the best value signing of the transfer window. Quality pro who we sure as hell missed on saturday. Best wishes and probably see you at the Carra next season.

Absolutely delighted. I really hope he helps the Blue Birds to promotion and is back at Carrow Road next season.

Seems a little bit short-sighted, as surely Cardiff will be promoted this season and he'll be reduced to a bench-warmer at best again next season (or more likely not even on the bench). Good luck to him though of course.
