Dereham wheelchair racer Will Smith begins his Commonwealth Games campaign today.
The 18-year-old is scheduled to race in the second heat of the men’s 1,500m T54 qualifiers in Hampden Park at 11.57am, following the first heat at 11.50am which will feature the star attraction of London 2012 star David ‘The Weirwolf’ Weir.
If the youngster can qualify from his heat he would then return to the track for the final at 7.35pm on Friday.
The Games begin for Long Sutton shooter Aaron Heading as well today, in the men’s trap qualifiers.
If the King’s Lynn-born 27-year-old advances then he is potentially in action in the semi-finals from 2pm, followed immediately by the bronze and gold medal matches.
Lawn bowls action continues for Fakenham’s Jamie Chestney, with rounds three and four of the fours, and Wisbech-born Ellen Falkner, with rounds three and four of the triples.
Norfolk-born squash stars Laura Massaro and James Willstrop are straight back into action today after winning silver medals in the singles yesterday.
They are both in doubles action, with North Walsham-born Willstrop starting in the men’s doubles at 11.30am and Great Yarmouth-born Massaro in women’s action from 5.30pm.
Bury St Edmunds swimmer Chris Walker-Hebborn also looks to continue his excellent Commonwealth Games, which has so far seen him win gold in the 100m backstroke and fourth in the 50m backstroke, as part of the England team competing in the 4x100m medley relay.
England are scheduled to compete in the second heat at 11.36am and, if they qualify, would be back in action in the final at 9.12pm tonight.
