Ross Barkley is another doubt for Everton as they prepare for Norwich City’s Premier League visit at the weekend.
The 20-year-old has been something of a top-flight revelation this season, which started with a man of the match performance on the opening day of the season in the 2-2 draw at Carrow Road.
However, the forward picked up a toe injury to his right foot in the FA Cup victory over QPR last weekend and is now a doubt for Saturday’s game.
The Toffees’ injured defensive trio of Phil Jagielka, Sylvain Distin (hamstrings) and Leighton Baines (back) are all set to be assessed as to whether they can feature, although left-back Baines is the only one that had previously been in with a chance for Saturday.
On-loan Barcelona winger Gerard Deulofeu is definitely out after he returned to Spain for treatment to his own hamstring injury.
