Under the supervision of Paul Segolo and Jim Marshall, two coaches from the Norwich Brewery Bowls Club, the pupils have been learning all about the sleight of hand needed to become a bowls master.

Headteacher of the City Road school, Oriana Dalton, had approached the bowls club at the end of last summer to ask if it would be possible to introduce the children to the game of bowls, and was pleased to see that an after school club had been started.

At their afternoon assembly on Friday, May 25 the pupils that took part were presented with certificates and the top boy and girl were both presented with trophies to mark their achievements.

The school believes it is the first Norwich school to take advantage of bowls coaching and is hoping to continue the sessions outdoors in the summer.
