Tom Nield, who referees conference league football, will be a national technical official for the cerebral palsy seven-a-side football during the Games.

He will referee his first match at the Riverbank Arena in the Olympic Park on Saturday.

The 21-year-old from Cromer, who teaches refereeing with the Norfolk FA, said he “cannot put into words” his excitement.

He said: “The whole thing is amazing, it’s unbelievable. The vibe and feeling in the Olympic Park is already really good.”

GB’s athletes will compete against Russia, Iran, Ukraine, Brazil, Holland, Argentina and USA.
