The Unite union is demanding £500 for members working during the Games.

They claim it is unfair that 20,000 bus workers have not been given extra cash when other transport staff have.

London Mayor Boris Johnson has said £8.3m is available, but no offer was put to staff by union chiefs.

Walkouts are planned for Thursday and on July 24 – three days before the Olympics opening ceremony.

Today’s talks are being brokered by ACAS, the conciliation service.
