Norwich City’s final Premier League away trip to Chelsea has been switched to Sunday May 4 (4pm kick-off) for live television coverage.

The Canaries’ daunting assignment at Jose Mourinho’s title-chasing Blues will be live on Skysports after being originally scheduled to take place 24 hours earlier at Stamford Bridge.

Chris Hughton’s side produced a battling display in the corresponding fixture at Carrow Road - which was also televised live - before leaking two late goals in a 3-1 Premier League defeat in early October.

Norwich have had seven live television appearances already this season and the Canaries will now feature on Skysports over three consecutive weekends, with Liverpool’s Easter Sunday visit to Carrow Road on April 20 followed by City’s trip to champions Manchester United also been selected for coverage.

  • Sounds worse than the Ghost scene out of "Fiddler on the Roof", LincsCan! Go calm your nerves with a soothing pint of Bateman`s XXXB. Good Honest Ale. Clinical studies have proven that XXXB destroys parts of the brain that other beers do not even know exist. Fact! Nirvana in a glass.

  • I used to look forward to those rare occasions when Norwich were show-cased on national TV. Now they have 3 live games on telly in 15 days........against Suarez, Man Utd and Chelsea......and I am dreading the possibility that they might concede the same number of goals (15).

  • Good advice MB, might need a few pints of that before season end. By the bye, have had notice of a post being rejected as offensive. It was aimed at the "psychologist" board a week or so back. The offence, I assume, must be words I quoted from a Charlie Drake song. Offensive in 2014, not back in the sixties (or was it fifties) when it charted. Can you guess the song? Clue, W***h Doctor (I am assuming you remember Charlie Drake).

  • Correct BW. Good luck with the check up. Hope it's not Charlie's friend doing the examination.

  • I'm guessing "Witch Doctor"......... which reminds me, prostate examination next week. (If that provokes S\O, just ignore it, Gek.)

  • Well said Capri, Saturdays are no longer the same with TV switching games left right and centre, bring them all back to 1500 on Saturdays, only reason they have Norwich on is probably because they know there will be goals.

  • Yes, I remember Charlie Drake, LincsCan. I remember the episode of his show where he was dragged thro` a bookcase in a library melée and was knocked unconscious. Thing being, he really had been! It was SO funny, many older folk irrigated their Y-fronts. "Hello my darlin`" was Charlie`s catch phrase. Blaff beat me to the Witch Doctor answer. I am prostrate with grief.

  • Btw, I had a post deleted on the `psychologist` board too. Similarly `offensive`. My offence was to express a lack of faith in the veracity of that profession. I reckon that academic guy`s landed himself a sinecure at Carra Rud, with a bit of `moonlighting` as The Padster`s Style Counsellor.

  • One thing which makes this season seem a drag is that football is no longer something to look forward to at three pm on Saturday afternoon, when all games are played. Sunderland had a home game on Monday. I was busy but stopped when West Ham had two corners early on. I hoped they would score and Andy Carroll obliged. Sunderland more likely to down than Norwich.

  • The nightmare began that we had to play Chelsea, Man U and Liverpool, it worsened on learning it was live on tv, then horror took hold as Alan Brazil arrived in his ITFC nightie, chained me to my armchair and laughing demonically screamed "Watch and suffer, Lincs, watch and suffer."

  • LincsCan, out of curiosity, I`ve just had a look at Charlie Drake`s discography and there`s no mention of `Witch Doctor`. Was it the title, or just a lyric? I`m sure I remember it. I hadn`t realised most of his stuff was produced by George Martin. Peter Gabriel did one too! Such fun.
