Norwich City’s current FA Youth Cup winning captain Cameron McGeehan embarks on the next stage of his career on Saturday with Conference Premier title favourites Luton Town.
McGeehan is in the squad for the Hatters’ game against Nuneaton at Kenilworth Road after joing on a short term loan deal and the central midfielder aims to buld on his success leading the young Canaries.
“At my age, 18, I just want to get experience. I am here to help Luton Town get into the Football League and I will give everything I have got for them. That is my goal,” he said. “They are winning a lot of games and if I can help in the push that is what I want to do. I might have to bide my time and be patient. You can see in training there is a lot of quality so I just want to get involved.
“I can see Luton is a well-supported club and I am looking forward to playing in front of the fans. The FA Youth Cup was a great experience playing in front of 20,000 crowds and that can only hold me in great stead.”
McGeehan is the latest from Norwich’s development set-up to seek first team experience.
“They started speaking to Norwich just before Christmas and I was really happy they managed to get it done and I will be here now for a month so I will give it everything I have got while I am here,” he told Luton’s official site. “The boys are obviously doing really well in the league at the minute and a new manager has come in and has changed it around a little bit and they are flying. It is just a great club to be part of and you can feel the dressing room is really close so I am looking forward to it and hopefully getting some games.”
