  • Alas, TK, I see nothing but hole-plugging here, Roeder style. They`re not going to let Hughton loose with any more of McNally`s bonuses. For me, the best outcome is that we survive and say goodbye to Hughton & his crew, and make a fresh start ready for next season. I think Dubai`s idyllic, lotus-eating expat lifestyle has made him a perennial Pollyanna. I`m soo jealous! I wonder if the Hoolahan saga will further unfold today?

  • Timbo if he does bring him on in the 88th minute when we are 2 nil down, it will probably to replace Hooper. Got to protect our goal difference you know.

  • I can only hope so, Oz. Hoot is such a second-rater only second-raters would come here.

  • yobo is a good solid centre back , which we undoubtedly need so it's a fair signing, but it is also symptomatic of the hughton era, safe, defensive, aging, no frills, we need creativity, drive, energy, excitment, someone to make you excited for Saturday to come. Saturday has been a foreboding chore for far too long.

  • To Oz and others, given the speculation about CH and Norwich's recent form, I think it is inevitable that ambitious younger players may not want to come to NCFC.

  • I have no problem with this signing but what we really need is a big name to get some energy back into the club. Cardiff got Zaha, Fulham have just got Holtby and Palace are getting Ince. We have got two ageing stars on loan. Please, please sign big.

  • Good idea mjc and how about swapping Hoolahan for Benteke? Best of all Hooton and £23 billion for Lambert.

  • Just posted this on the transfer deadline storyconversation. Not sure if I've been ethered or whether Gavin's nipped to the loo. Check out the picture to get the full picture. Oo, wince: I'm confused. If you study that picture carefully, you'll notice that Hughton is pointing in the direction of Birmingham. If you'll listen carefully, you can quite clearly hear him saying 'See that hill over there boy, that's the Midlands,go and get me some sheep'.

  • I wonder if our lack of signings has anything to do with profits v Mcnasty's bonus? Who knows maybe now is a good time for the board to sell out to a new owner. A PL club with no debt and making a profit.

  • Good signing, provides cover until the end of the season, competition for Bassong, saves us paying an over inflated price now for a CB

  • This looks a sensible move, but I don't believe he has had much game time lately which could be an issue. I can't see us splashing the cash on permanent big name signings as some would like when relegation is still a distinct possibility, but our inability to createscore goals must be addressed, even if that means another loanee. Hopefully, McN's on the case. You have to say RvW's been a disaster.

  • Note with interest the suggestion that Hughton isn't being trusted to buy outright by theBoard. If that's the case they spot on . Somehow we have got to grind out the points needed to stay up and draw a line under this sorry season .If so it will be in spite of not because of Hughton.Supporters of 30 40 or even 50 years cant all be wrong in their condemnation of our Management and coaching set up. Just ONE major signing tomorrow please to let loose on Cardiff. Dare we dream or will we wake up to reality?

  • Sorry an ok signing on loan but why are we not spending as has been said on here on a proper signing to lift the team and supporters. Tomorrows scramble as the window shuts will probably pass us by as usual, Remember last years fiasco with Gary Hooper? Every other club is signing players and scoring GOALS !!!!!! we cant hope to survive scoring less than a goal a game. PLS lets transfer Hughton to the Job Centre!!!

  • Nemanja Vidic would have been a better loan signing. Even Shola Ameobi would be a good loan replacement for Elmander. We still need a quality RB as both Whittaker and Martin are often outclassed and lack pace.

  • Far be it from a "Hoof the Hoot"er like myself to defend Clueless Chris, but Yobo is a fair enough signing. He won't set the world on fire, but he can do a job for us. Mind you, Hughton won't bring him on till the 88th minute when we;re 2-0 down....

I have a constant sick feeling in the pit of my stomach caused by levels of anger and frustration I have never witnesses before in 30 years of ups and downs supporting Ncfc.

  • Disappointed we've only signed two players on loan. Like others have stated maybe CH is on his way out by the Summer. Regardless of which league we finish in. If we get relegated they're not on the books and if a new manager comes in he'll want his own players anyway..

  • I am sure he will be adequate cover for the two lads in possession, I would be very annoyed if he dropped Bennett to play him though as I think he looks the better centre back right now. Like many others I think we should have kept Ayala to bench warm and we certainly need a good target man for Hooper to feed off. RVW needs to sit on the bench and bide his time for a few games. When his chance comes he then needs to step up to the mark as I am sure he too would look better beside the non existent target man we need.
