Chris Hughton admitted to mixed feelings about facing a fortnight’s break after Norwich City produced their best performance under their new manager with a 1-1 draw at his former club, Tottenham.

The Canaries appear to have shaken off the effects of the disastrous 5-0 opening day defeat at Fulham, and on their return to London they might well have taken all three points.

Asked if he was sorry to have to wait two weeks for the Premier League visit of West Ham – another of his old teams – Hughton said: “Yes and no, because I think you like that period when the players can recover and recoup.

“But we now have more international players and what comes with that is the threat you could possibly pick up injuries. But that’s the same for everybody.

“Yes, I hope we don’t lose any of the momentum we have had over the last couple of weeks.”

England goalkeeper John Ruddy, Scotland pair Russell Martin and Robert Snodgrass, Wales striker Steve Morison, Canada striker Simeon Jackson, Norway midfielder Alex Tettey and England Under-21 pair Declan Rudd and Ryan Bennett are all on international duty before the next round of Premier League matches.

  • NRG, does it stand for No Real Gumption? If you have to be so gloomy I think The Prancing Donkeys manager will go before the ones you name. If Swiss is right about Roeder that is the Indian Sign on Aston Vanilla! But three games in and despair, sorry chum you have got it wrong, patience is a virtue.

  • I believe that there will be good karma around Chris Hugton, Roeder was different and is currently Chief Scout at Aston Vanila, say no more.

  • And @ncfcforever - I think we have established that billythebookie (who has now dropped his "olympic" subtitle) is in fact a Leeds supporter. He has never responded to this accusation, which has been levelled many times at him, although he has consistently and often vociferously denied having any affiliation with the Binmen.

  • I think you missed Timbo's point Dissaster. He was referring to the fact that our beloved neighbours only got a home point against newly promoted Huddersfield, while our point was obtained - much against expectations outside Norfiolk - at the home of a normally very strong established Premier club. He wasn't knocking Huddersfield, he was throwing that result in Bookworm's blue and white face.

  • 2 points from 9, another Roeder moment like thinking...the same 3 matches last year produced 6 big points, the next 6 games are against imo, more dangerous and inform sides than the last 3. The spuds team that played Saturday is by far one of their worst displays for years. Both managers along with Rodgers will be amongst the first to get the chop from worried club owners.

  • Three games in and those nasty cheap miserable little maggots have appeared out of the woodwork. I doubt if they are capable of supporting themselves, very doubtful if they would support "The Prancing Donkeys"! Take no notice of them.

  • yeah..watched the game online and we outplayed them all over the field . Sunday Mirror had Martin, Johnson and Snoddy in their Prem team of the week, Daily Mirror had Basson and Snoddy. Not bad for a team who are going to be relegated! bet Rodgers wished he stayed at Swansea, OTBC.

  • The team is adapting to a very different style, improving and integrating the new players. I'll take a strong finish over a premature spurt.

  • @Timbo, that's the type of comment, issued by fans of the bigger clubs, towards City. So the 'mighty' Norwich got a point at Spurs. Doesn't sound too good in that context, eh? I salute the fans of the smaller clubs, at least they don't jump on the bandwagon of the 'super-clubs'. Claiming great allegiance, based on zilch. Merely wanting bragging rights. We all know some - many?

  • Bragging rights? There are so many Chelsea supporters round here that it`s becoming the epicentre of "Mockney", Chas & Dave `music`, mindless "smart talk", noise, foul language, uncouthness and gratuitous membership of the RAC-ism. And those awful replica shirts. And that`s just the "ladies", Dissaster. ;-(
