The price of an adult ticket in The Barclay stand and Thorpe Corner, known as The Snake Pit, has risen by £47.50 to £471, an increase of just over 10pc.

Over-75 seats in the same areas - all calculated at the first opportunity to buy, before a deadline of Sunday, February 26 - have risen by £28.50 to £277, 65+ and under-21 seats have risen by the same amount to £310 and £201.50 respectively and under-12 seats have risen by £19 to £112.50.

The adult, over-75 and 65+ tickets are exactly the same in the family areas in the Norwich and Peterborough Stand, Aviva Community Stand and Wensum Corner.

However, under-21 prices in these three areas have increased by £68.50 to £201.50 - one of the largest increases at around 34pc - and the under-16 and under-12 prices have both risen £19, to £80.50 and £55.50 respectively.

The season tickets go on sale from tomorrow morning, ahead of Paul Lambert’s side’s latest Premier League home clash, against Chelsea (12.45pm).

The club have confirmed that no new season tickets will be offered as they are capped at 22,000, of a stadium which now holds 26,816 and is almost always sold out.

Full details of the season tickets are due to arrive in the post to current holders from tomorrow morning.

City chief executive, David McNally, said: “The Yellow Army is the envy of many clubs around the country and the way in which you follow your club, home or away, is an important part of what makes Norwich City truly unique.

“Behind the scenes at Carrow Road, we remain committed to doing all we can to support the first team and ensuring we serve our incredible supporters.

“Our business plan is designed to allow continuous improvements at the football club, on and off the pitch, and we will continue to do all we can in helping Paul Lambert in his efforts to win football matches whilst we continue to provide good customer service to all supporters.

“We also commit to you that any spare cash raised by the football club will be used to strengthen the first team squad and so we are fully focused in growing all commercial areas at Norwich City.

“Inevitably, prices have increased for next season and yet this still represents great value for money whilst your season ticket remains the most affordable way to watch football at Carrow Road.

“We will never underestimate the support and commitment you give to your football club.”

  • JMM the £88M was based on one year in the Premiership plus the parachute payments on getting relegated. IE it was the minimum we would earn from promotion. We haven’t received it yet. We only got £40M on promotion and as you say £20M of that was spent on debt. It doesn’t leave much for loyalty bonus does it?

  • Mark, you're struggling with this fairness thing. It's a business, supply and demand, it's a case of charging whatever yields the most and makes you most competitive. Fairness is something you argue with politicians about when it comes to taxation and public sector spending

  • wonder how much we have in the bank? promotion was said to be worth 88million and survival must be a few million, plus another year in premiership which looks very likely, we have hardly done a man city spending spree, 10m max on transfers, debt was 20m. i belive season ticket increse is fair and good value, but maybe they could have offered a loyalty reduction to long term season ticket holders?

Football is a working class game i wonder how many of you were their 15 years ago when we were not selling out. The cub have tottally sold out the true fans and looked after a new class of fans the only ones who can afford to go and thoose who say its resonable should look at the league table of season ticket prices for the premier league. outside of london we are the 2nd most expensive in the league behind liverpool. we pay more than man city, man utd, everton and villa! I dont ming paying a reasonable price but for example the cheapest at newcastle is 200 pound cheaper than ours! dont come on here and say 10% is ok its ok if your rich enough!!!!! more than man utd and man city......norwich your a out of order!!! norwich are at best a midle table team and the price should at best reflect this!!! do your reaserch but for you comment on here!!!

  • Billy I have just done some basic maths and recon that a 10,000 seat increase will take about 200 matches to repay it assuming that the stadium is sold out every week. Is that no time at all? It isn't to me! If we don't stay in the premier league then it's probably not going to be sold out either!

  • The proposed increases seem in line with the times. Now that our Premiership status is already 99% guaranteed the season ticket increase seems appropriate. The biggest challenge is 'supply and demand' and we really need a 35,000 seater stadium. The only difficulty it that we will probably have to downsize before we can upsize. I guess the two options are rebuild the main stand on Carrow Road or Cantilever the Jarrold stand to add the extra capacity. Build it and they will come !!!

On match day we had to get out of the lake at six o'clock in the morning, clean the lake, eat a handful of hot gravel, walk to Carrow Road on our knees, pay 6d to get in to the River End and stand there in the pouring rain with no roof, getting beaten 4-1 by Northampton Town with only a single Woodbine between us that we fished out of a urinal. Those were the days.
