Neighbours Wymondham are the visitors at Beeston Hyrne tomorrow and will be keen to take revenge for the home defeat they suffered in September.

Several players are out because of injury, including second row Tom Lloyd back row forwards David Micklethwaite, who has been an ever-present this season, and Craig Dunbar and winger David Smillie. Several players in the Lions get their opportunity as a result including Chris Drohan in the second row, Dan Evans at scrum-half, Calum Macaulay on the wing and David Mawer and Simon Atkinson in the back row.

With Jay O’Brien unavailable Rob Micklethwaite plays at full-back, which in the opinion of some is his best position, and Chris Parrot provides cover for the backs.

Wymondham head into the game on the back of a narrow win over bottom-of-the-table Newmarket.

Coaches Justin Loveridge and Alan Turner will be looking for the Red and Blacks to recapture their form of the autumn, when they were playing slick, entertaining, rugby and achieving some excellent results, although the conditions may not help them. They welcome back Duckham, Wilson and Gover, who will be looking to impress during their university vacations.

Influential back rower Chris Brown makes one of his all too infrequent appearances and will add guile and steel to the pack while coach Alan Turner names himself among the replacements alongside experienced front row Ian Forton.

In the same section Holt will be hoping it’s not unlucky 13 on Saturday when they resume their programme. The runaway leaders, who have won all 12 of their fixtures so far, travel to London outfit Upminster looking to maintain the excellent form that has seen them build up a 10 point advantage over their nearest challengers.
