Ex-Canaries players Daryl Sutch, Robert Ullathorne and Paul McVeigh are the latest to bolster the home squad which will take on a squad of Inter Milan legends on Sunday, May 20 (2pm).

The match is raising funds for the Community Sports Foundation’s (CSF) new £10million site near Norwich Airport, The Nest, an impressive facility being built on the old Anglian Windows site off Holt Road.

CSF have launched a Build The Nest campaign to raise £2.5m, which the game will contribute towards, while marking the approaching 25-year anniversary of City’s famous Uefa Cup run.

Lowestoft-born Sutch came on for the injured Mark Robins after 15 minutes of the 2-1 win at Bayern Munich and also replaced Ruel Fox during the closing stages of the 1-1 home draw which sealed progress to the third round.

The local lad then started the 1-0 second leg defeat with Inter at the San Siro after coming on for Efan Ekoku in the closing stages of the 1-0 first leg defeat at Carrow Road, which Ullathorne started, with Ians Butterworth, Culverhouse and Crook all suspended.

Right-back Sutch made a total of 352 appearances for City between 1990 and 2003, scoring nine goals, and still sits 16th in the club’s all-time appearances list. Versatile defender Ullathorne scored eight goals in 115 games between 1991 and 1996.

McVeigh scored 40 goals in 246 matches during two spells for City, between 2000 and 2006, before a further 11 appearances during 2009/10.

Norwich Legends confirmed: Bryan Gunn, Darren Huckerby, Adam Drury, Chris Sutton, Iwan Roberts, Grant Holt, Mark Bowen, Rob Newman, John Polston, Daryl Sutch, Robert Ullathorne, Paul McVeigh
