Michael Bailey reports from Carrow Road as Norwich City slip out of the Premier League with a meek defeat at home to Arsenal.

A stunning volley from Aaron Ramsey and Carl Jenkinson’s first for the club gave the Gunners the perfect preparation for next weekend’s FA Cup final against Hull, while also darkening the mood for Canaries fans who will have to start preparing for life back in the Football League Championship.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and City boss Neil Adams also give their verdicts on the result.

  • As much as I like Neil and would be happy to see him as number two, I'm afraid the team he put out against Arsenal ended his chances of being a credible choice as manager. Everybody around me was disappointed at a time when it would have been quite safe to start with a good attacking format. Why did Hooper not start? Why didn't Wolf start alongside him? What an opportunity to play them together before they both inevitably leave in the summer! We need our next manager to be brave and to use attack as the best form of defence. Radical changes are required very urgently from a board whose performance this season has been no better than management or players. Thank goodness the lifeblood of the club, our fabulous fans, have again performed exceptionally during this miserable season.

  • Adams knows he's not getting the job. Look at his face at the end of the interview. Malky or Lennon, the arrangement is already in place.

  • Shocking utterly shocking. A dead rubber perhaps, but I would have expected a bit of pride from the players. With the exception of Ruddy no-one fit to wear the shirt. Total rebuild required.
