Player ratings for both Norwich City and West Ham following their Premier League clash.

• Norwich City

7 John Ruddy: Two quality reaction stops during West Ham's bright spell in the first period. Well protected by his defence.

7 Russell Martin: Resolute at the back. One alert piece of defending to clear a certain goal. Flashes of attacking endeavour.

6 Leon Barnett: Another impressively assured muscular display. Carlton Cole was left to feed on scraps.

7 Sebastien Bassong: Growing in confidence with his distribution from the back. Unflustered. Great foil for Leon Barnett.

6 Javier Garrido: Appears to have slotted seamlessly into City's backline. Quality operator in possession.

7 Robert Snodgrass: Continued his impressive early season form. Making the transition from the Championship look easy.

7 Bradley Johnson: Carried on in the same vein as Tottenham last time out. Always keen to supplement City's forward thrusts.

7 Jonny Howson: Defensively disciplined but also showed plenty of technique and awareness going the other way.

7 Andrew Surman: Almost crafted a superb individual goal early on. Linked well with Javier Garrido. Classy outlet.

6 Grant Holt: Tough shift against two abrasive centre backs. Two clear sighters of goal in the first period.

7 Simeon Jackson: Denied by Jussi Jaaskelainen early in the second half. His substitution appeared to alter the flow of the game.

Subs: Steve Morison (for Jackson) 6, Harry Kane (for Holt) 6

• West Ham

7 Jussi Jaaskelainen: Brilliant fingertip save to claw away Simeon Jackson's piledriver. Superb stoppage time block as well.

5 Guy Demel: Needed more support at times, faced by Andrew Surman and Javier Garrido raiding down his flank.

6 James Collins: Reckless attempted tackle on Andrew Surman almost proved fatal. Perhaps a touch fortunate to stay on the park.

6 Winston Reid: Looked the part. Never shirked the physical aerial challenge posed by City. Excellent athlete.

6 Joey O'Brien: Tried to get forward in the opening exchanges. Almost embarrassed by Robert Snograss after being robbed.

6 Mark Noble: Had to defer to Jonny Howson and Bradley Johnson for the most part. Sporadic influence.

6 Mo Diame: Provides the ballast in West Ham's engine room. Struggled to impose himself during Norwich's best work.

5 Ricardo Vaz Te: Wayward. Woeful decisionmaking when it mattered - one decent early angled strike apart. Forgettable shift.

6 Kevin Nolan: Undoubtedly the leader of this crew. Denied by a superb one-handed first-half save from John Ruddy.

5 Matt Taylor: Showed little of his quality on that superb left peg. Overshadowed when Matt Jarvis belatedly appeared.

6 Carlton Cole: No lack of effort but dominated by City's centrebacks. Needed far more support from midfield.

Subs:

Modibo Maiga (for Cole) 6, Matt Jarvis (for Taylor) 7, Yossi Benayoun (for Vaz Te) 5
