A trio of Norwich City players have been called up for World Cup qualifying duty later this month.
Robert Snodgrass and Russell Martin were named in the Scotland squad today for a difficult double header against Wales and Belgium. The Scots take on Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium on Friday, October 12 before facing a star-studded Belgian outfit in Brussels on Tuesday, October 16.
Norwich team mate Simeon Jackson will also play a part in his country’s World Cup qualifying campaign when he heads across the Atlantic to face Cuba and Honduras next week. More calls up are likely for Chris Hughton’s men later this week with John Ruddy, Steve Morison and Alex Tettey all currently part of their respective countries’ senior plans.
Carrow Road will also host international action next week when England U21s take on their Serbia counterparts in their Uefa Euro2013 play-off, first-leg tie on Friday, October 12. Kick-off 6pm. Stuart Pearce’s side sealed top spot in their qualifying group with a squad that included City youngsters Ryan Bennett, Declan Rudd, and loan-signing Harry Kane. The second leg tie will take place on October 16 in Serbia, with seven play-off winners joining host nation Israel in next summer’s finals.
Tickets for next week’s Carrow Road game are on sale, priced £10 for adults, £5 for under 18s, over 65s, and students. Call 0844 8261902 or visit the usual club ticket outlets.
