International recognition at Carrow Road continues to blossom – but it could make for a nervy fortnight as Norwich City fight to guarantee their Premier League status.

Key defender Sebastien Bassong and impact striker Kei Kamara will have long trips ahead of them before the month is out, as the pair return to the international arena – sandwiched by two top-flight fixtures.

Norwich travel to Sunderland on Sunday, with Fifa’s 2014 World Cup qualification taking another step forward from the following weekend.

And a total of seven from Chris Hughton’s professional ranks will do their duty before City return to action with a vital trip to relegation-threatened Wigan on March 30.

Bassong, who played for Cameroon at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, has been recalled to action for their home qualifier with Togo in Yaounde on Saturday, March 23 – a game Cameroon need to win to make an appearance in Brazil a realistic possibility.

As for Kamara, the Sierra Leone and on-loan City striker will hope to add to his two goals in 14 appearances when they visit Tunisia on the same day for their Group B qualifier.

And Norwich fans will simply be concerning themselves that two of Hughton’s key men return in full fitness and able to see out the rest of the season.

Russell Martin and Robert Snodgrass have made Gordon Stachan’s Scotland squad for qualifiers against Wales and in Serbia. The City duo will meet up with the squad following the game in Sunderland.

Simeon Jackson will rack up the miles again as Canada play friendlies with Japan and Belarus in Qatar on March 21 and 24 respectively, while starlets Josh and Jacob Murphy will complete the absentees list for England Under-19 against Turkey in Telford, on March 21.
