Manager Neil Adams has revealed more about what he hopes new signings Cameron Jerome and Carlos Cuellar will bring to the Norwich City squad this season.

The duo were signed during a busy day of transfer activity at Carrow Road yesterday, which saw midfielder Leroy Fer join QPR for a club record sale which could be worth around £10million.

Striker Jerome joined from Stoke City in a deal thought to be worth around £1.5m, with the 28-year-old signing a three-year contract.

Defender Cuellar was signed on a free transfer, following his release by Sunderland earlier in the summer, with the 32-year-old signing a one-year deal which has an option for a further year.

In amongst the transfer activity was also the news that centre-back Michael Turner had signed a new contract extending his deal with the Canaries through until the summer of 2016.

Jerome and Cuellar both trained with Adams’ squad at Colney this morning, where the City boss talked more about his new signings.

“Experience is primary but quality as well,” Adams told City’s official website. “Cameron is one who we’ve been looking at for a little bit longer, certainly in the summer we couldn’t get him but things move pretty quickly in football, as we know, and obviously delighted that he’s signed.

“He gives us power, pace and experience as well, and gives us more attacking options for what will be a long season.

“Carlos, again a vastly experience player. That one was pretty quickly really, we knew he was available, got in there quickly with him. Great lad, he’s come down, proved his fitness to us. He will bring quality to us, that little bit of guile as well that’s going to be needed and of course defensive cover where we’re a little bit short.

“So great to get those two signed on the dotted line and they will form a big part of our squad.”

But Adams also said the signings are not necessarily his final dealings of the current transfer window.

“We’ll still be looking, there’s still a few days left, again hopefully it’s people coming and we’re talking about incomings rather than outgoings,” Adams added.

“I’ve said all along we’ll do what we feel we need to do and as and when players are available we’ll see what we can do.”
