He may soon be celebrating his 43rd birthday but Norwich City youth product Jamie Cureton has no intention of finishing his quest for goals yet.

The well-travelled striker has committed to the 25th season of his career, agreeing to remain with Bishop’s Stortford, where he scored 10 goals in 20 games at step three of non-league during the second half of last season.

Cureton, who turns 43 in August, made his debut for Norwich back in November 1994 having been prolific at youth and reserve levels – scoring 135 goals in 178 games, including seven hat-tricks.

He went on to score 278 goals in the top four divisions of English football at clubs including Reading, Exeter and Colchester.

The expert poacher had two spells with the Canaries, scoring six goals in 32 games before being sold to Bristol Rovers for £200,000, then returning with 18 goals in 76 matches between 2007 and 2010. He passed 300 senior goals when scoring for Stortford in February.
