Norwich City have added some much needed firepower to Daniel Farke’s squad...but that won’t stop them looking for more.

Finnish striker Teemu Pukki signed a three-year deal with City after leaving Danish side Brondby on a busy weekend for the Canaries, which also saw them complete the signing of Ben Marshall from Wolves.

Pukki is likely to compete with Dennis Srbeny for the lone striker role next season whilst it remains to be seen what the long term future of Nelson Oliveira is at Carrow Road.

The Portuguese forward’s days at Norwich could be numbered after an indifferent campaign and it is understood that if a buyer could be found this summer then City would look to replace him.

Farke admitted at the end of last season that strengthening his forward line was his priority after seeing his side score just 49 goals in the last campaign.

Pukki, who arrives on a free transfer, scored 17 goals in 36 league games last season as Brondby finished runners-up in the Danish Super League and he scored a total of 72 in 164 matches across his four seasons in Denmark.

“I want say huge thanks to everyone around Brondby IF,” he posted on his Instagram account after his move was confirmed.

“Up to this day i have had my best time as a football player over there. I have so many good memories and Brondby has been my home for last Four years but I felt that I needed to try something new as a football player. I wish you all the best in a future and from now on I’m a fan.”

Previously the forward spent time at Celtic and Schalke, while on the international stage he has managed 12 goals in 62 appearances.

The forward had also been linked with Championship rivals Reading in recent days whilst Fortuna Dusseldorf had also looked at the player before completing a deal for Marvin Ducksch from St Pauli.
