Birmingham City boss Harry Redknapp has promised fans can expect a 'very different' Blues side following their busy end to the transfer window.

Birmingham head to Carrow Road this Saturday and their summer has been almost as hectic as the Canaries with 28 players coming or going over the course of the close season.

It is perhaps therefore no surprise that Redknapp's side have made an equally indifferent start to Norwich with both sides taking just four points from their opening five games.

But the former Tottenham boss believes he is starting to mould a squad that can work its way back up the table, starting against Daniel Farke's side on Saturday.

'It's been a difficult start to the season, but I knew it would be,' he said. 'First five games, nothing happened that surprised me.

'Now we are up and running and let's judge this team after 20-odd games. I think you'll see a very different Birmingham. It's going to be a team worth watching.'

Birmingham raided Brentford in the final few hours of the transfer window last week with Jota the headline signing, costing a reported £6m.

Harlee Dean also signed in and Redknapp is pleased with the business he's done in an increasingly competitive second tier.

'It's been good – I think we have brought some good players in,' he told Birmingham's official website. 'Exciting players and I'm looking forward to working with them.

'There's been a lot of ins and outs, we're level – 14 in, 14 out – and I'm delighted with what we have done. Every day you see 10, 12, 15 million pound deals in the Championship.

'It is getting harder and harder to compete. But I have had great support from the owners and everybody and I feel we have got a good team, it's going to be an exciting team to watch.'

Former Blackburn defender Jason Lowe will also be available on Saturday after signing for the Blues whilst Everton starlet Liam Walsh has also been brought in.

'Liam Walsh, he's a typical lad from the Liverpool area,' he said. 'That kind of character. He's another real talent. He's a little tiger. He can play, he digs, he will be scrapping for a place in the team for sure.'
