There is no need to panic over the dwindling size of Daniel Farke's Norwich City squad, according to Angus Gunn.

The on-loan Manchester City goalkeeper has played his part in some of the most memorable games of the current season, including another cup marathon at Premier League opponents last week.

But the England stopper was unable to prevent a galling home Championship defeat to Sheffield United on Saturday, which followed a number of senior departures – with City waiting on fresh arrivals.

'A few players have gone out this week and I'm sure the manager and (sporting director) Stuart Webber are working together to bring bodies into the club,' said Gunn.

'But I think with the group we've got here, we've been doing well recently and picking up good results. It's just a shame we couldn't grind something out, which would've been great.

'It's something for the club to look at and decide. But we've got the quality here to keep going and hopefully we can keep rising up the table, as we are.

'There are experienced players that have left the building but we've still got experience left with Timm Klose and Wes Hoolahan, and many others as well.

'We've got younger players too and it's a good mixture we've got I think, and we've been doing well recently. Hopefully we can get back to that next week at Brentford.'

The ups and downs of a Norwich City season have been amplified by Wednesday's FA Cup shoot-out exit at Chelsea, followed by a Blades loss that carried the air of acrimony leftover from events at Bramall Lane back in September.

What the Canaries have to ensure now is that an eight-game winless run following their extra-time Carabao Cup exit at Arsenal back in autumn, is not repeated after a similar effort at Stamford Bridge.

'I think everyone was feeling very positive after this week and it's a bit gutting that we didn't get a result here,' added Gunn.

'But I think after we come back and look at the last few games, we've got to be proud of ourselves and we've got to take that into the next couple of weeks, because we've got Saturday-Saturday games and a bit of rest. So hopefully we can get back on a good run again.

'Obviously if we want to have a successful season, then what happened in September can't happen and we need to get back on winning ways soon.

'But I think as the manager said before that it was an isolated incident. I don't think the run was connected to Arsenal, but obviously it happened and we've got to make sure it doesn't happen again.'
