Norwich fans are never short of an opinion – and according to statistics, those on social media are happy with the appointment of Neil Adams as manager.
Pitch Social Insights – a bespoke social media analytics tool – say the Norwich fans are “overwhelmingly positive” about Adams – named as the new boss after Chris Hughton’s sacking last Sunday – and are backing him to keep City in the Premier League for another season.
Positive sentiment on Twitter around the former Academy coach stands at 83.8pc since his appointment, with fans hopeful of a successful end to the season.
However, positive sentiment for the club remains low, with an average of just 52.7pc positive sentiment since the news of the sacking broke and a low of 32pc registered on Tuesday. This compares with 82pc positive sentiment measured just a month ago, indicating the decline in support for the club’s senior management – say pitch Social Insights.
Positive fan sentiment around Hughton on Twitter has averaged 44.5pc positive since his sacking. Despite lows of 22.7pc on Monday afternoon, positive sentiment for Hughton averaged 58% on Tuesday as fans began to “acknowledge his overall service and contribution to the club”.
However, following his suggestion he would have kept Norwich in the Premier League had he seen out the final five games, positive sentiment dropped back to 46.2pc on Thursday.
